Abstract The article examines the migration trends that have developed in 2023 in the context of the Far Eastern subjects of the Russian Federation and in the Far Eastern Federal District (FEFD) as a whole. Among the considered indicators characterizing the territorial movement of the population: the number of arrivals and departures, the balance of migration, interregional interaction, migration interactions with countries near and far abroad, and the regional structure of migration. The analysis period mainly covers eight quarters, starting from Q1 2022 to Q4 2023, and in some cases, comparisons are made with the parameters of 2019. Official publications and operational data of Rosstat were used as information sources. The features of migration registration and regulatory restrictions on attracting migrants to work in the subjects of the Russian Federation as part of the Far Eastern Federal District in 2022–2023 and for the period 2024 are presented.
