Abstract	This paper considers cyclical processes occurring in the regions of Russia in the period between 2010 and 2021. The authors assess the closeness of the relationship between regional business cycles, the indicator of which is changes in the unemployment rate. The cyclical component of regional unemployment, identified using the Hodrick – Prescott filter, is compared to the cyclical component of unemployment at the national level and at the level of the corresponding federal district. Tables showing the dynamics of the weighted average correlation coefficient of regional business cycles by federal districts are constructed. Correlation and sliding window analysis of the dynamics showed that almost all regional cycles became significantly more synchronized with both the entire country and the corresponding federal district after declaration of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. At the same time, the gap between the degree of synchronization of regional business cycles with the national cycle and the degree of synchronization of regional business cycles with the cycle of the corresponding federal district was not significant throughout most of the period under study.
