Abstract Based on statistical, analytical and expert information, the trends of the main parameters of the labor market in general and in the context of the subjects of the Russian Federation as part of the Far Eastern Federal District (FEFD) are considered. The list of studied indicators characterizing the labor market includes the number of workers aged 15 years and older, the number of employed and the level of employment, employment in the informal sector of the economy, the number of unemployed and the unemployment rate, the number of required workers for vacant jobs. Special attention is paid to the relative indicators of inter-company labor mobility and job movement both in the context of the FEFD regions and types of economic activity in the macroregion as a whole. The analysis period includes from Q1 2024 to Q2 2025, recording the main changes that occurred during the year. Scientific publications, official government materials, media publications, and operational data from Rosstat were used as information sources. It is shown that the labor market situation in the FEFD is characterized by the persistence of significant tension, formed against the background of two stable and interrelated trends: an increasing shortage of labor resources and a continued reduction in the unemployment rate to historically low levels. It is proved that, while maintaining the current situation, there are signs of a cooling of the labor market and a slowdown in inter-company labor mobility, combined with a positive attitude of employers towards workplace modernization.
