Abstract | The problem of mixed national origin is especially relevant in multi-ethnic societies where mixed national marriages are common. Moreover, the most problematic issue for people born in such unions is the issue of ethnic identity. The article presents the results of a study of this issue using the example of residents of the Republic of Khakassia of mixed national origin. The empirical basis was the data of a series of in-depth interviews and an expert survey conducted in 2023. The role of various factors in the identification choice of people of mixed national origin is analyzed. Cases of marginality, «exclusivity» and cultural mediation are demonstrated; conclusions are made about the factors that hinder the formation of Khakass identity. |
