Abstract The article discusses some of the problems of the relationship of bibliometric and sociological methods for evaluating the activities of Russian economists and economic journals. Based on the analysis of bibliometric parameters, the description of the territorial structure of economic science in the Russian Far East is given. Attention is paid both to the placement of organizations that carry out R&D on economic topics, the results of which are reflected in articles published in scientific journals, and to the analysis of Far Eastern journals that publish scientific articles on economic issues.
