Abstract The article discusses the criteria for regional economic security. A comparative analysis of the main macroparameters of economic security is carried out in comparison with world average values. It is shown to what extent the presence of certain internal determinants (investment climate, infrastructure, natural and geographical resources, etc.) allow to counter the threats to the socio-economic security of the Far Eastern macroregion.
