Abstract The study analyzes the comparative attractiveness of the RF subjects and investment localization territories (special economic zones and their analogues) for domestic and foreign investors by the share of foreign and Russian-foreign property in fixed capital investments and by the role of residents with the participation of foreign capital. The dependence of the attractiveness of regions for foreign investors on the type of investment policy instruments used and the specific features of the regions themselves is shown.
