Abstract The article presents the scheme of decomposition of economic space of Far Eastern macroregion, which developed on the basis of the principles of economic regionalizing and zoning. The economic meso-areas are adopted as the basic elements of the first level of decomposition differing from each other both in context (natural and social) and in driving forces (factors) of region formation.
