Abstract Redistribution assessment in space of timber industry production in 2007–2016 under the influence of institutional changes is carried out. On the basis of measurement of an indicator of a share of wood processing it is shown that timber use degree in federal districts – leaders of a forest complex of Russia hasn’t changed for the studied period. The conclusion is drawn that the responses of the real sector to the industry solutions directed to increase in technological level of timber industry production were weak.
