| Abstract | This article examines selected aspects of P.A. Minakir’s scientific legacy in the context of contemporary processes of global economic fragmentation, the transformation of the global financial architecture, and changes in the spatial organization of economic relations. It demonstrates that several of the academician’s conclusions formulated in 2022–2023 have been confirmed by subsequent global economic developments, manifested in increased sanctions pressure, the restructuring of supply chains, the declining stability of the previous dollar-centric model, and the emergence of macroregional development contours. Attention is paid to the sustainability of the Russian economy, monetary constraints on economic growth, demographic challenges, and the objectives of Russia’s spatial development. The article substantiates the need to strengthen the computational and modeling base of spatial economics theory, including agent-based models, integral indices, and digital twins of socio-economic processes. |
