Abstract The trajectory and development trends of key complexes (mineral and raw materials and forestry) of the natural resource sector of the economy of the Khabarovsk Territory in 2007–2020, including both crisis and recovery periods, have been investigated. The main influencing factors of a positive and negative orientation, including external shocks and internal institutional imperatives, and their results for the industries of the natural resource sector of the Khabarovsk Territory are identified.
