*Сомерен Т.К.Р. ван* Региональный рост и развитие в России: путь стратегических инноваций Аннотация В статье показано, что российская экономика находится на распутье и нуждается в стратегических инновациях. Одной из основных целей российского правительства является диверсификация экономики для снижения зависимости от ресурсных отраслей. Однако мировая экономика меняется всё быстрее, и командное управление экономикой будет становиться всё более неэффективным. Необходимы стратегические инновации как на мезоуровне (в цепочках ценности, «тройной спирали», отраслях и трансграничных регионах), так и на микроуровне (в организациях, городах и районах местного уровня). Представлена методология реализации стратегических инноваций, основанная на авторских теоретических исследованиях конца 1980-х гг., а также практике осуществления стратегических инноваций в рамках отдельных фирм, сети организаций и регионов. Обсуждается возможность использования этой методологии для стимулирования стратегических инноваций в российских регионах, в том числе в случае трансграничной региональной кооперации с Китаем..	стр. 6–22
*Someren T.C.R. van* Regional Growth and Development in Russia by Strategic Innovation Abstract In this article it is demonstrated that the Russian economy is on a cross road and needs strategic innovation. One of the core aims of the Russian central government is to diversify the economy in order to be less dependent on natural resources industries. But increasingly, the world economy is changing rapidly and governing an economy by decree or command will become increasingly ineffective. Strategic innovations on the meso level (value chains, Triple Helix, industries and (cross border) regions) as well as micro level (organizations, cities and (local) regions) are necessary. Based on our theoretical research as of late 1980s combined with practical implementation of strategic innovations within single firms, network of organizations and regions, the methodology to apply strategic innovation is presented. An approach to use this methodology in stimulating strategic innovation in Russian innovative regions and a special case of cross border regional cooperation with China is discussed.	pp. 6–22
*Трейвиш А.И.* Время и пространство российской модернизации: некоторые уроки истории и географии Аннотация Статья посвящена историческим и географическим проблемам модернизации России, её пространственно-временной специфике, а также вытекающим из её изучения «урокам» академического и практического характера. Эти цели реализуются путём комбинации кратких обзоров литературы по основным аспектам темы с оригинальными разработками и обобщениями. Понимая модернизацию как инновационное развитие, автор приходит к выводу о том, что сохранение её догоняющего характера связано не с размером или разнообразием пространства, а с уровнем его обустройства, доступности и т.п.	стр. 23–41
*Treyvish A.I.* Time and Space of Russia’s Modernisation: Some Lessons of History and Geography Abstract In this article it is demonstrated that the Russian economy is on a cross road and needs strategic innovation. One of the core aims of the Russian central government is to diversify the economy in order to be less dependent on natural resources The article is devoted to historical and geographical problems of modernization of Russia, its spatial and temporal specificity, as well as resulting from its study the «lessons» of academic and practical nature. These goals are realized by combining a brief literature review on the main aspects of the theme with original elaborations and generalizations. Undestanding modernization as innovative development, the author concludes that the preservation of its catch-up nature is related not with the size or diversity of space, but with the level of its arrangement, availability, etc.	pp. 23–41

*Lazhentsev V.N.* Some Results of the Study of the Spatial Aspects of the Development of Russian European North Abstract The European North of Russia is characterized by the diversity of the spatial organization of the economy and the resettlement of the population. Its main line of spatial development is the preservation and modernization of these forms on the basis of scientific and technological achievements, and the strengthening internal and inter-regional relations. Spatial transformations are related to the strengthening of already accumulated industrial and social potential and to the elimination of «bottlenecks» in the transport and energy systems.	pp. 42–48

*Мотрич Е.Л.* Миграционные проблемы Хабаровска сквозь призму социологического исследования Аннотация В статье содержатся результаты исследования миграционных процессов в Хабаровске. Основное внимание уделено выявлению факторов, определяющих миграционную подвижность населения города, и отношению постоянного населения города к мигрантам из других регионов РФ и стран ближнего зарубежья. Было выявлено, что формирование эффективного демографического потенциала города, как и региона в целом, предполагает привлечение мигрантов, чему может способствовать высокий уровень толерантности во взаимоотношениях между постоянным населением и мигрантами.	стр. 56–64
*Motrich E.L.* Khabarovsk Migration Problems through the Prism of Sociological Research Abstract The article contains the results of studies of migration processes in Khabarovsk. The main attention is paid to identification of the factors that determine the migration mobility of the population of the city, and position of the resident population relative to the migrants from other regions of Russia and CIS countries. It was found that the formation of an effective demographic potential of the city, as well as the region as a whole, is expected to attract migrants, which may contribute to the high level of tolerance in relations between the permanent population and migrants.	pp. 56–64
